A tidy property starts with a plan that suits your lawn, your trees and your neighbourhood. CaféTico welcomes quote requests for lawn care, leaf cleanup and seasonal property maintenance in Westmount, subject to an assessment.
Each municipality sets its own rules. Rules and collection calendars summarized from official municipal pages reviewed on October 9, 2026. They change, so confirm the rules for your address and work date before scheduling.
Whether you need an autumn visit or a recurring maintenance plan, the assessment helps establish the areas to be cleaned, the equipment suitable for the work, and how the leaves will be managed. Keeping paths usable and removing heavy leaf accumulations can be balanced with retaining suitable leaves as garden mulch.
When to arrange leaf cleanup
Arrange an initial cleanup when leaves begin accumulating on walking routes and the lawn, followed by a later visit if the trees continue shedding. An autumn plan should allow time for bagging and the remaining garden-waste collections. In spring, schedule lawn work when the ground can support foot traffic without becoming muddy or rutted.
Westmount’s leaf-blower rules
Gas-powered leaf blowers are prohibited. Electric blowers may be used from October 1 through May 31, Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. All blower use is prohibited from June 1 through September 30. Contractors require a City permit, and blowers must carry the manufacturer’s required noise-certification label. Choosing a battery model does not remove those conditions. Westmount Public Safety
Leaves, compost and garbage
Use paper bags or open containers with handles for garden waste, with a maximum filled weight of 20 kg. The City’s blue and green bins are not accepted for this collection. Small branches must meet the City’s size limits and be tied with natural twine. Keep litter, soil, rocks and oversized wood separate from leaves.
Garden waste is collected weekly from April 13 to the end of November in 2026, weather permitting; check the City’s schedule for the final date. Collection is Monday for sectors 1–3, Wednesday for sectors 4–7, and Friday for alleys. Put material out between 8 p.m. the previous evening and 7 a.m. on collection day.
