Lawn care and seasonal cleanup in central and northern Montréal.
CaféTico welcomes enquiries in Ville-Marie, downtown and Old Montréal, Plateau-Mont-Royal, Mile End, Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension, Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Montréal-Nord and Saint-Laurent. All are open to quotes after an assessment.
Each municipality sets its own rules. Rules and collection calendars summarized from official municipal pages reviewed on October 9, 2026. They change, so confirm the rules for your address and work date before scheduling.
Outdoor maintenance can involve a front garden, a private yard or an authorized shared space. The assessment establishes the actual lawn and planting areas, access arrangements and where cleanup material can wait safely for collection.
Ville-Marie, downtown and Old Montréal
These areas use Ville-Marie’s municipal framework. Two-stroke gas-powered leaf blowers and leaf vacuums are prohibited. The borough also prohibits electric and battery-powered blowers all day on Sundays and holidays and after 7 p.m. on other days. Those restrictions are a summary, not an authorization to operate at any earlier hour; applicable noise rules still need to be respected. Depositing leaves on public property is prohibited. For properties with shared access or collection points, confirm the building’s arrangements before a visit. Cleanup should maintain clear entrances without transferring leaves into the street or onto a neighbouring property.
Plateau-Mont-Royal and Mile End
Mile End uses Plateau-Mont-Royal’s collection framework. Since November 1, 2025, Plateau green waste has been collected year-round on the same day as food scraps. Accepted leaves can go in the brown bin; larger quantities can use permitted paper bags, cardboard boxes or reusable containers. Plastic bags are not accepted for green waste. Some Plateau collection points and schedules changed on June 3, 2026, including shifts from alleys to the street frontage on specified blocks. Check the exact address before putting prepared material out. Plateau collection changes
Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie and Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension
These are separate boroughs. A similar cleanup plan may suit both, but collection instructions should be checked individually. Keep food scraps and yard waste in their respective municipal streams, and confirm collection days before organizing a large seasonal visit. Food-waste collection guidance, Info-Collectes
Ahuntsic-Cartierville and Montréal-Nord
Schedule maintenance around the property’s needs and the address-specific municipal calendar. The quote can identify lawn areas, access routes and garden edges, along with how leaf material will be prepared or handled. Equipment selection should include a check of the applicable borough noise and nuisance requirements. Montréal neighbourhood-noise guidance, Info-Collectes
Saint-Laurent
Saint-Laurent collects accepted food and garden material through its combined organic-waste system. Verify the property’s current collection day and instructions rather than borrowing a nearby borough’s schedule. Montréal organic-material collection
When to arrange seasonal care
In autumn, address leaf buildup on paths promptly, then schedule lawn cleanup as needed through the main leaf fall. Retaining appropriate leaves in planting areas can reduce the amount collected. In spring, prioritize debris sorting and suitable access before undertaking more intensive work on wet ground.
