Each municipality sets its own rules. Rules and collection calendars summarized from official municipal pages reviewed on October 9, 2026. They change, so confirm the rules for your address and work date before scheduling.

The plan should reflect tree cover, lawn condition, garden beds and how much material can be reused on the property. It should also identify the collection or removal route before work begins.

Timing your visits

During autumn, plan smaller visits if leaves build up quickly, with a later cleanup after the main leaf fall. For spring work, let soil conditions guide the schedule. Avoid putting heavy traffic over wet lawns simply to meet an arbitrary calendar date.

Leaf blowers and noisy landscaping work

The Town’s published rules prohibit ordinary leaf-blower use from June 15 through September 30, with a specific exception for qualifying tree-felling or pruning work. During the permitted season, working hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Battery equipment is still subject to these restrictions. The Town’s wording overlaps at June 15; confirm that boundary date directly before scheduling blower use. Town noise-control guidance

Leaf collection and organic waste

Leaves can go into the Town’s organic-waste collection. The Town also operates seasonal leaf pickup; use its current instructions before leaving loose piles or bags at the curb. A seasonal pickup does not authorize ongoing curbside deposits after the operation ends. Burning leaves or waste is prohibited.
