Each municipality sets its own rules. Rules and collection calendars summarized from official municipal pages reviewed on October 9, 2026. They change, so confirm the rules for your address and work date before scheduling.

Autumn cleanup can be planned in stages: remove troublesome accumulations as they develop, then return for a more complete visit when leaf fall slows. On suitable areas, retained leaves can reduce the amount of material that needs to leave the property.

Montréal West has narrow blower-use windows

The published nuisance bylaw allows leaf blowers and leaf vacuums from April 15 to May 1 and November 1 to November 30. The Town may shift those dates without extending the authorized duration, so check current announcements before booking a blower-based visit.

Within the permitted windows, hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use on Sundays and statutory or public holidays is not authorized. These restrictions concern blower and vacuum use; choosing battery power does not bypass them. Montréal West nuisance bylaw, section 8.2

Organizing leaves and other waste

The Town’s organic-waste rules include garden debris and qualifying small branches. Before a large cleanup, confirm permitted containers, the current pickup schedule and how excess material should be presented. Sort household litter separately so it does not contaminate the organic material. Residual-waste bylaw, consolidated April 2025

Request a lawn or leaf-cleanup assessment

Tell CaféTico about your preferred timing and the areas you want cleaned. Where blower use is restricted, the assessment can establish whether manual raking and sweeping suit the work.
