Each municipality sets its own rules. Rules and collection calendars summarized from official municipal pages reviewed on October 9, 2026. They change, so confirm the rules for your address and work date before scheduling.

The useful distinction is between a regular maintenance visit and a larger cleanup timed for a seasonal leaf collection. Planning that difference early can prevent surplus bags being left out on the wrong day.

Seasonal leaf collection and the green bin

Pointe-Claire offers separate spring and autumn leaf collections. During those collections, approved paper bags, cardboard boxes and qualifying reusable containers may be used alongside the City’s green organic bin. Outside the designated dates, leaves must go in the City’s green wheeled bin; extra leaf bags are not picked up with the mechanized collection. Pointe-Claire leaf collection

The currently posted autumn dates for 2026 are October 5 and 19, and November 2, 16 and 30. Starting in December 2026, organic collection changes to every two weeks. Check the latest municipal calendar when booking later-season work. Leaf collection, 2026 collection-schedule changes

Blower and gardening-equipment hours

The City’s nuisance guidance restricts leaf blowers, lawnmowers and similar equipment to 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Electric or battery equipment is still subject to these noise-hour rules. Pointe-Claire good-neighbour guidance

Retain useful leaves where practical

A light layer of leaves can be shredded with a suitable mower, while excess material can be collected. The goal is to keep grass visible rather than leave a thick, wet covering. Pointe-Claire leafcycling guidance
