After an installation, you receive a written aftercare document for what was installed once the final invoice is paid. These pages are general guidance in plain words. If they differ from your aftercare document or from what we told you after assessing your property, follow those.
New sod
- Follow the watering instructions you were given. Watering is the most important part of the first weeks, and your site may need more or less than a neighbour’s.
- Keep traffic, pets and heavy objects off the new lawn until it has taken hold.
- Check edges, sunny strips and shaded corners, which can behave differently from the middle.
- Do not assume a brown patch means the sod failed: tell us what you see and send a photo.
- Ask before using any product on new sod.
Sod timing, ground suitability and watering needs are assessed per property; see sod installation.
New plantings
- Water new plants as instructed, and more attentively in dry or hot weather during the first season.
- Keep mulch pulled back from trunks and stems rather than piled against them.
- Do not prune or move new plants unless your aftercare document says so.
- Send us a photo if a plant looks stressed: leaf colour, wilting or damage are easier to judge from a picture.
Plant choices and spacing are discussed in the planner; the plant finder is a reference, not a recommendation for your site.
Garden winter preparation
- Winter preparation is done as agreed in your estimate. Ask what was and was not included.
- Keep an eye on new plants through late fall, and ask us whether they need extra attention before the ground freezes.
- Plan spring work now: take photos, and note anything you want to change.
See fall and spring cleanups. We do not offer snow removal or de-icing.
