Before delivery, decide who will check the plants and how water will reach every area. Record the planting date, exact plant and any instructions provided by the installer. Our planning suggestion is to keep a short log of rainfall, root-zone checks and watering actions rather than following a fixed calendar without observation. If the soil stays wet or water runs off before soaking in, record that problem and request an assessment instead of repeatedly adding water.
Municipal watering rules are a separate check. Montréal’s water-use information and Pointe-Claire’s drinking-water rules describe different methods and local requirements. Verify the current rules for your own address, including restrictions or special provisions for new plantings. A gardening recommendation does not grant permission to water at a prohibited time. Keep the municipality link in your saved project so the person responsible for aftercare can review it.
Inspect mulch and keep stems and trunks clear. Do not assume a light shower watered the root ball or that the dry appearance of the mulch proves the soil is dry. Ask the installer how to check moisture without damaging roots and what symptoms justify a follow-up visit. Establishment time differs by plant and stock size, so confirm the aftercare period and responsibilities in the project discussion. The suite records a plan and quantities; it cannot monitor moisture, diagnose disease or confirm that watering occurred. A successful handoff names the responsible person and the next review date.
Planning note. Sources checked October 9, 2026. Planning suggestions, horticultural facts and municipal rules are kept separate: confirm anything that depends on your plant, site or address.
